Thanks guys! This makes the dropbox experience ten times better.

I also had to change my computer name to get it to work. My naming convention is normally "name-PC" or "name-Laptop" but it didn't like the "-".

I understand this is just the first release, but my request would be for it to check if a file is in use before opening it, and if it is, open the file as a read-only document and then notify the user accordingly that the file is currently open by "so and so" and has been opened as a read-only document.

Hi,

Ok, it seems to be a problem with computer names containing '-'. We will look into this.

Regarding your question;
In Windows it is very hard from one application (Notifybox) to interrupt and temporary stop another application (for example MS Word), from opening a file. We would like to keep away from actually changing/affecting the original file in any way. I.e. why the current implementation gives the user a warning, but doesn’t stop the opening of the file.
