I have the same problem - and likely to be due to the computer name. However, I can't change the name of the computer as it is all set by the IT domain here at work. Hopefully the next release may work around it?

I have done some checking and it does not check or out.

Some info:

  1. Have the Notifybox icon in system try
  2. set the dropbox folder in preferences
  3. set the folder to monitor

IT simply just open the folder without interference.

Does this only work with Microsoft apps? or can it work on OpenOffice?

Nothing in events log shows its started but it does list what files are there and tmp files created and deleted.

Hi,
Regarding your problems;
a) What is the full name of your computer? (You can see that below the “Your name” field in the Account-tab.
b) What type of files have you tested? MS Office? Version – 2007? 2010?

Regarding OpenOffice;
The trick is to capturing when a file is opened and closed by another application. This is not that simple to achieve. When it comes to MS Office files, this can be done. But if you for example just open a text-file – it is very hard for any another application than Notepad to know that a specific file is in use. So at the moment there is support for MS Office documents, but any type of file that creates an event like a “lock-file” could be supported.
